I hope many of you are aware of ninja star. These are getting very popular in the American continent.

But do you know where they come from? They have a name in the history and as their name suggests, their history is associated with the ninjas.

Now, I hope you all know ninjas very well. These are still believed to be one of the greatest warriors of all time. They were the first to use these stars, sometimes known as shuriken.

A ninja star is actually a star with a few edges on it. These edges are often deadly and can inflict severe injuries.

Ninjas used them for maiming though, not for killing. They were used as tactical weapons to gain advantage over opponents in the wars.

They could be used for distracting the enemies before the start of the war to get an early advantage in the war. They were thrown on the enemies with pace to ensure a serious injury on the heads.

Also, they were embedded in the ground at times to cause injuries to the feet of the enemies.

So, they were traditionally used for maiming and distraction, what could possibly be the use of ninja stars today? Well, there are a few interesting uses that many of you are unaware of. Following are those interesting uses:

1. Defense Against the Attackers

Ninja stars now serve as self defense weapons in America. Since there is a massive choice as far as self defense weapons are concerned, there is a reason why people prefer shuriken.

Most of the weapons require the user to get closer to the attacker while shuriken saves from this distress.

You can use ninja stars while staying at a safe distance from the attacker. You can throw the stars from a distance and cause injuries on the heads of the attackers.

Meanwhile, you can escape and survive. This particular advantage of these stars urge the people to use them as their primary self defense weapons.

2. Throwing Sports

This is a pretty interesting use of ninja stars you don’t know about. You must be familiar with knife throwing and axe throwing as throwing sports, but star throwing is a new addition to throwing sports.

However, the rules and procedure of paying remains similar. Only the throwing material is changed.

Rather than throwing a knife or axe, you would be throwing a shuriken on target. To play this game, build a wooden target and start throwing stars in target to test your throwing skills and accuracy.

3. Cosplay

The third interesting use of ninja stars is cosplay. Several cosplayers tend to use them on stage during their LARP performances.

To dress up as a ninja, they would often have these stars in their hands because they are iconic ninja weapons. In addition, they present a sense of uniqueness.

I mean katana is a frequently used ninja weapons but cosplayers tend to try different weapons to impress their audience. This is the idea behind using them for cosplay.
